Li Auto is apparently preparing the next Mega and has shared the first photo of its redesigned interior, which looks more like a lounge than a conventional van. A filing with Chinese authorities has also revealed key specifications such as dimensions, power output and sensors ahead of time. Battery capacity remains the main unknown, but the Mega series’ fast-charging performance will once again be of particular interest.

Volkswagen is revealing the upcoming ID. Tiguan in increasing detail, with leaks and official videos already providing a clear view of its new look. Visually, the electric SUV is moving closer to VW’s traditional styling and away from the current ID.4 design. BMW is planning its first electric 1 Series for 2028. Called the BMW i1, it will be offered alongside combustion-engine and plug-in hybrid versions. Intriguingly, the i1 is expected to use a dedicated EV platform while visually mirroring the 1 Series and likely featuring rear-wheel drive. A rear motor producing up to 240 kW and a potentially much more powerful all-wheel-drive option are under discussion.

With the #2, Smart is bringing back a true electric two-seater that offers a modern interpretation of the ForTwo spirit without resorting to retro styling. This is made possible by a new small-car platform with wheels positioned far out at the corners, a modern safety cell, and a compact LFP battery. Initial data from China indicates a range of around 300 km, an output of 60 kW, and charging from 10 to 80% in about 20 minutes.

According to the latest information, Volkswagen’s upcoming entry-level EV based on the ID. Every1 concept will be called the “ID. Up” and start at around €20,000. Xpeng aims to exceed 60,000 deliveries per month in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is launching two new SUVs to help achieve that goal: the G9L in September and the Mona L05 in Q4. Both models use 800-volt technology and will be available as all-electric and range-extender variants. At the same time, a major driver-assistance system upgrade is intended to strengthen the software side, with regulatory approval for a broader European rollout targeted for 2027.

The BMW i3 Touring has appeared in a video for the first time, clearly revealing a longer rear end and a more gently sloping, wagon-style roofline. Technically, it is likely to be closely related to the i3 Sedan, including the Neue Klasse cockpit and 800-volt charging technology, but with a greater focus on everyday practicality. The extra space will probably come with slightly less range than the sedan.
