Tesla is now rolling out the Summer Update to FSD vehicles in Europe
Tesla has started distributing the 2026 Summer Update in Europe to vehicles on the Full Self-Driving (FSD) update track. This is notable because, in practice, FSD subscriptions often mean receiving new FSD versions sooner but waiting longer for conventional convenience and infotainment features.
The technical reason is simple: Tesla usually develops new features in the "Main Branch" while running FSD updates in parallel on a separate branch. Until the two are merged again, FSD cars lag behind in terms of features, even if the FSD version itself is up to date.
Update 2026.27.100.1 combines FSD with the Summer Update
Tesla is now beginning this merger in Europe with version 2026.27.100.1. It includes FSD 14.2.2.6 for vehicles with Hardware 4, along with the features from the Summer Update.
Interestingly, Europe is the first region where this combination has visibly started arriving. This suggests that other markets, such as Oceania and North America, could follow soon. These summer features are coming, depending on model and hardware
The 2026 Summer Update introduces a long list of changes, with availability varying by vehicle, region and hardware version. The features Tesla lists as part of this package include:
- Preferred Routes and smarter automatic navigation
- Grok Vehicle Commands (voice- or AI-powered vehicle commands, depending on the market and availability)
- Apple Music: queue features
- Supercharger search by location name
- Arrival Energy settings from the Tesla app (target state of charge on arrival)
- Camera Preview while driving (availability depends on the vehicle and region)
- Adjustable zoom for the driving visualization
- Caraoke with scoring, as well as the option to disable touch input on rear displays
Some features require specific hardware, such as the AMD Ryzen infotainment system for selected functions including Caraoke scoring. Newer Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y vehicles are also receiving new welcome animations as part of this update cycle, provided their configuration supports them.
What this means for Europe and the DACH region
The context is important: due to regulatory and functional differences, FSD in Europe is not identical to what Tesla offers under the FSD name in North America.
