Cayenne Electric gains new comfort options
Porsche is significantly expanding the range of options for the all-electric Cayenne. The new features will be offered for both the conventional SUV and the Cayenne Coupé Electric.
Of particular technical interest are wireless charging at up to 11 kW and power-operated doors. These are joined by an enhanced massage function, more leather and Race-Tex trim options, and a total of 105 available paint colors.

Inductive charging at up to 11 kW
With Porsche Wireless Charging, the Cayenne Electric is parked over a permanently installed floor plate. Once the vehicle is positioned correctly, charging starts automatically. There is no longer any need to connect a charging cable.
The system consists of factory preparation in the vehicle, a receiver unit in the underbody, and the floor plate at the parking space. The latter is weatherproof and can therefore also be installed outdoors.
Charging power is up to 11 kW, with a stated efficiency of around 90%. This puts its performance on a par with a typical three-phase wallbox, although contactless energy transfer results in higher losses than a direct cable connection.
Line up with the parking space, park the vehicle, and charging begins: Wireless Charging removes another step from charging at home.
For drivers in the DACH region—Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—the installation requirements are likely to be particularly relevant. In addition to the vehicle equipment, a suitable private parking space with an electrical connection is required. Porsche has not yet announced pricing or precise market-launch dates for the system.
Power-operated doors with obstacle detection
The optional doors are opened and closed by servomotors. A brief pull on the handle is sufficient; alternatively, they can be operated using buttons in the interior, the central control system, or the Porsche Digital Key.
Sensors monitor the doors’ range of motion and stop them if a person or obstacle is detected. In conjunction with the exit warning system, the system can also prevent a door from opening when a vehicle is approaching. Manual operation remains possible.
The practical advantage is particularly apparent in tight parking spaces or when getting into the vehicle with full hands. At the same time, it remains to be seen how Porsche will balance the added mechanism’s weight, noise, and operating speed in everyday production use.
Massage function becomes a tactile sound system
The new massage function with 4D audio uses 16 air cushions in each of the driver and front-passenger seats. Six audio actuators are also integrated into each backrest and seat cushion, allowing low frequencies to be transmitted as vibrations.
Five massage programs with multiple intensity levels are available. The distribution and strength of the vibrations can be adjusted. If desired, the 4D audio function can also operate independently of the massage function.
105 paint colors and more interior choices
With the model-year update, the Cayenne Electric is being added to Porsche’s Paint to Sample program. Together with the existing finishes, this brings the total number of available colors to 105, including 13 standard colors across various color families.
For the interior, Porsche is expanding the existing Style Package with additional leather surfaces and contrasting stitching in Delgado Green. Further options include leather-covered seat consoles, combinations of leather and Race-Tex, and Race-Tex door-sill trim with colored contrasting stitching.
More luxury, but wireless charging stands out
Many of the new features follow Porsche’s traditional strategy of allowing customers to configure a vehicle in the greatest possible detail. Power-operated doors, new materials, and additional colors primarily cater to customers’ desire for comfort and personalization.
From a technical perspective, inductive charging will have the greatest impact on everyday use. If the installation, positioning, and reliability prove convincing, the 11 kW solution could make home charging noticeably more convenient. However, the option price and the cost of the floor plate and electrical installation will be crucial.
