Arcfox Alpha T7 launches in nine variants
Arcfox has officially launched the Alpha T7 in China. The 5.02-metre SUV is available in nine variants, including five fully electric versions and four models with a range extender.
It is not only the low starting price that is attracting attention. According to the manufacturer, more than 30,000 firm orders were placed within 60 minutes. This figure cannot yet be independently verified, but it demonstrates the high level of interest in the new model.
The Alpha T7 combines premium-class dimensions with prices that, in China, are on a par with significantly smaller electric cars.
Prices start at around €15,900
The least expensive range-extender model costs 132,800 yuan, while the entry-level electric version starts at 135,800 yuan. The euro figures in the table are rough conversions and do not represent potential European retail prices.

These figures cannot be applied directly to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, collectively known as the DACH region. VAT, customs duties, transport, homologation and a potential European distributor margin would raise the price significantly. A launch in the DACH region has not yet been announced.
Electric version with 800 volts and up to 715 km
The fully electric Alpha T7 uses an 800-volt architecture with silicon-carbide power electronics. Its single electric motor produces up to 227 kW. Buyers can choose between 72.8 or 84.8 kWh LFP batteries from CATL.
Depending on the battery, Arcfox quotes a range of 650 or 715 km under China’s CLTC test cycle. These figures are generally more optimistic than WLTP ratings and should therefore not be compared directly with European range figures.
Under suitable conditions, up to 270 km of additional CLTC range can reportedly be added in ten minutes. That is an interesting figure for everyday use, although Arcfox does not specify either the corresponding peak charging power or a complete charging curve.
Range extender with a large LFP battery
The second powertrain option combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine acting as a generator with a 200 kW electric motor. The electric motor remains primarily responsible for propulsion, while the combustion engine maintains the energy supply on longer journeys.
At 43.9 kWh, the LFP battery is unusually large. Arcfox quotes an electric CLTC range of 320 km and a total range of 1,315 km. The Xpeng L05 with an optional range extender follows a similar concept.

More than five metres long with ample storage space
At 5.02 metres long, 2.00 metres wide and 1.69 metres tall, the Alpha T7 clearly belongs to the large SUV class. Its wheelbase measures 3.04 metres. Despite its substantial body, the vehicle achieves a drag coefficient of 0.251.
The design features a closed front end and a 1.70-metre-wide light bar with dynamic lighting functions. Arcfox also claims that 88.8% of the vehicle’s space is used for the interior. The front boot holds 200 litres, while the rear luggage compartment offers between 645 and 1,845 litres.
Large head-up display instead of a driver display
The Alpha T7 does not have a conventional instrument display. The most important information appears on a 43.3-inch head-up display. The centre console also houses a 17.3-inch touchscreen with 3K resolution.
The infotainment system uses a chip manufactured on a 4 nm process and supports 5G, voice control, Apple CarPlay and Huawei HiCar. Arcfox is therefore following the Chinese trend towards minimalist cockpits with large projection displays and centralised controls.
Huawei assistance system with 27 sensors
Selected trim levels receive Huawei Qiankun ADS 5. The system uses 27 sensors and camera-based laser perception around the windscreen. It is designed to provide assisted-driving functions on motorways and in cities, as well as automated parking in more than 160 scenarios.
However, this remains a driver-assistance system rather than fully autonomous driving. Which functions could be permitted outside China would also depend on regional regulations, mapping data and European approval.
Strong start in China, European prospects remain uncertain
The Arcfox Alpha T7 offers an unusually broad range of options. Buyers can choose between an efficient 800-volt electric powertrain and a range extender suited to long-distance travel, without making major compromises on space.
The reported 30,000 orders in one hour are a strong signal, but they still need to translate into actual deliveries. For the DACH region, the main questions are whether Arcfox will expand its distribution network and what prices would be realistic after import costs, registration and taxes.
