Mercedes C 300 4Matic starts at €62,951
Mercedes is adding a more affordable all-wheel-drive version to the electric C-Class range. The new C 300 4Matic is available to order in Germany from €62,951, making it €4,760 less expensive than the existing C 400 4Matic.
The powertrain continues to feature two electric motors and electric all-wheel drive. Total system output is 310 kW, enabling the C 300 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 210 km/h.
85 kWh battery enables up to 690 km of WLTP range
Usable battery capacity is 85 kWh. Mercedes quotes a range of up to 690 km under the WLTP test cycle and combined consumption starting at 14.1 kWh/100 km, although the exact figure depends on the wheels and equipment fitted.
In everyday use, motorway speeds, outside temperatures and heating will be the main factors determining how closely the C 300 approaches that figure. Nevertheless, the low WLTP consumption shows that Mercedes is not relying solely on a large battery, but is also systematically optimizing the vehicle’s efficiency.

Compared with the more powerful model, the C 300 gives up 50 kW of power, 9 kWh of battery capacity and up to 72 km of WLTP range. The difference in fast-charging power, however, is small at just 10 kW.
For many long-distance drivers, the C 300 is likely to be the more sensible compromise: less power and range, but almost the same maximum charging power.
800 volts and up to 320 kW charging power
The electric C-Class is based on an 800-volt architecture. Mercedes says the C 300 can charge from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes at a sufficiently powerful DC charging station. Under optimal conditions, up to 290 km of WLTP range can be added within 10 minutes.
The 290 km figure should not be equated with guaranteed motorway range. Key requirements include a preconditioned battery, a low state of charge at the start and a charging station capable of consistently supplying high voltage and power. For long journeys, the time required to charge from 10% to 80% is generally more relevant than a brief peak-power figure. At 22 minutes, the C 300 is in a range that makes longer motorway trips possible with manageable breaks.
The electric C-Class range is not yet complete
Mercedes is planning further versions with rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and different battery sizes. A rear-wheel-drive model due to follow later has already been announced with a projected WLTP range of around 800 km. No specific launch date or price has yet been confirmed.
For now, the C 300 4Matic broadens the range in the part of the market where many buyers are looking: below the flagship model, but still with all-wheel drive and the full benefits of 800-volt charging technology. The electric Mercedes CLA-Class is also an option for those seeking a more compact alternative within the brand’s portfolio.
The stated starting price applies to Germany. Because of differences in taxation and equipment structures, it cannot be used to derive direct retail prices for Austria or Switzerland.
