Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 Goes on Pre-Sale
Geely Galaxy is expanding its lineup with a boxy off-roader featuring an electrified powertrain. The Cruiser 700, also known as the Zhanjian 700 in China, is available to preorder there from 199,800 yuan. That is roughly equivalent to €25,000, although this excludes European taxes, transportation costs and potential import surcharges.
The official market launch in China is planned before the end of 2026. A launch in Germany, Austria or Switzerland has not yet been announced. Given its dimensions and powertrain technology, the Cruiser 700 would in any case be more of a niche model than a conventional high-volume vehicle in the DACH region—the German-speaking markets of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
With up to 830 kW, three electric motors and a 47.14 kWh battery, the Cruiser 700 combines off-roader dimensions with supercar-level performance.
Five Powertrain Variants and a Limited Special Edition
Geely is initially offering five regular variants. The range starts with two models featuring a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine and two-wheel drive, followed by three all-wheel-drive versions, each with three electric motors. The most powerful model also receives a larger 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.

The stated electric ranges are based on Chinese homologation testing and are therefore not directly comparable with WLTP figures. The results would likely be lower under the European test procedure and in everyday driving. Nevertheless, the battery is unusually large for a plug-in hybrid and could allow many daily journeys to be completed without using the combustion engine.
Geely is also launching a Land Ark special edition limited to 700 vehicles for 389,800 yuan, equivalent to around €49,000. According to the manufacturer, the entire production run was reserved within 12 minutes.
830 kW and 0–100 km/h in 3.95 Seconds
The flagship model produces a combined system output of 830 kW. This is said to accelerate the more than five-meter-long off-roader from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.95 seconds. That is an exceptional figure for an SUV positioned as a rugged vehicle, even though its actual off-road capability depends more on ground clearance, suspension, tires and all-wheel-drive management than on peak power alone.
All variants use a 47.14 kWh LFP battery from CATL. LFP cells are considered robust and relatively inexpensive, but they have a lower energy density than many nickel-rich cell chemistries. Their market share is rising significantly in China, as shown by a look at the Chinese LFP battery market.
More Than Five Meters Long With a Classic Off-Road Look
The Cruiser 700 measures 5.09 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.90 meters. Despite its size, it has only five seats. This should create plenty of space for passengers and luggage, but it will also make the vehicle challenging to maneuver on narrow roads and in European parking garages.
Visually, Geely has opted for typical off-road design features: a boxy body, a side-hinged tailgate and an externally mounted spare wheel. The Cruiser 700 is therefore clearly aimed at buyers who deliberately do not want an aerodynamically streamlined family SUV.
Driver-Assist System Navigates From One Parking Space to Another
The equipment includes the G-ASD H7 driver-assistance system. It is designed to support journeys from one parking space to another, including parking maneuvers. This should be understood as advanced driver assistance, not approval for unsupervised autonomous driving.
Inside, the vehicle uses Flyme Auto 2. The infotainment system draws on Geely’s ties to electronics brand Meizu and is intended to integrate smartphone functions more closely with the vehicle. The Cruiser 700 therefore follows the Chinese trend of combining off-road styling with powerful software and extensive driver-assistance features.
Strong Pre-Sales, but No Actual Sales Yet
According to Geely, more than 10,000 reservations were placed within nine minutes. After one hour, the total had risen to more than 43,900 preorders. Such figures demonstrate strong early interest, but they should not be equated with binding purchase contracts or subsequent deliveries.
In China, the Cruiser 700 competes with rugged plug-in hybrid SUVs from BYD’s Fang Cheng Bao and GWM’s Tank brands. Models such as the BYD Ti 9 with its long electric range also demonstrate how quickly this segment is growing.
For Geely Galaxy, the off-roader also represents another step beyond conventional sedans and crossovers. Shortly before this, the brand unveiled the Geely Galaxy TT with 800-volt technology, an electric car much more strongly focused on efficiency and long-distance driving. The Cruiser 700 now serves the other end of the portfolio: large, boxy and extremely powerful.
