According to the latest information, Volkswagen’s upcoming entry-level EV based on the ID. Every1 concept will be called the “ID. Up” and start at around €20,000. It is expected to feature a new software and E/E architecture developed jointly by VW and Rivian, while its powertrain will use a derivative of MEB+.

Rivian is integrating Waze alerts directly into its in-car navigation system, starting with speed camera and police reports delivered via OTA update 2026.31. This brings real-time community alerts into the cockpit, while Tesla has so far addressed similar needs mainly through its own map markers and data sources. The key question is how much live hazard data will eventually make its way into Tesla’s system without requiring users to open a conventional third-party app.

Rivian will part ways with CFO Claire McDonough in fall 2026, when she leaves the company after nearly six years. Finance VP Derek Mulvey will take over on an interim basis while Rivian searches for a permanent successor. The change comes as Rivian must secure the production ramp-up of the new R2 as a driver of growth.
