Hyundai Plans a Broad Model Offensive in Paris

Hyundai will attend the 2026 Paris Motor Show with several new products. The company plans to unveil a new B-segment SUV globally, present a C-segment SUV in Europe for the first time, introduce an additional model variant and enter the fully electric light commercial vehicle segment.

The presentation is therefore aimed at both private customers and businesses. According to Hyundai, the new vehicles reflect the continued electrification of its European portfolio. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the two SUVs will be offered exclusively as electric vehicles, with partially electrified powertrains or with multiple powertrain options.

Two New SUVs for Key European Segments

As a world premiere, the B-segment SUV is the most prominent new passenger vehicle. Compact exterior dimensions, a practical interior and a competitive price are particularly important in this class. Hyundai is already represented there by the Hyundai Kona, but has not yet revealed how the new vehicle will fit into its existing lineup.

The C-segment SUV will make its European premiere. This segment is one of the most fiercely contested vehicle classes in the DACH region—Germany, Austria and Switzerland—especially for electric family cars. Our overview of electric compact SUVs in 2026 shows how closely matched their prices, ranges and charging performance have become.

So far, only the light commercial vehicle has been confirmed as fully electric. The exact powertrain options for the new SUVs remain unknown.

Sporty Variant Without Technical Details

Hyundai has also announced a new variant of an important model. The wording suggests a version with sportier styling and driving dynamics, but the manufacturer has not provided specific information about its output or whether it could be an N Line or N version.

Buyers therefore cannot yet make a reliable assessment. The key question will be whether the changes are limited to design and equipment or also include modifications to the suspension, powertrain and brakes.

Hyundai Enters the Electric Light Commercial Vehicle Market

The biggest strategic development concerns the commercial sector. Hyundai plans to unveil a fully electric light commercial vehicle for the first time, extending its electric strategy beyond conventional passenger cars.

For tradespeople, delivery services and municipal fleets in the DACH region, payload, cargo volume, real-world winter range and DC fast-charging power are especially relevant. Total cost of ownership, maintenance services and potential body configurations are equally important. Hyundai has not yet released any information on these points.

An electric van can offer particular advantages in urban traffic: frequent acceleration increases the benefits of regenerative braking, while local emissions and engine noise are reduced. However, whether the announced model will also be suitable for longer daily routes will depend largely on its battery, energy consumption and charging curve.

Presentation on October 12, 2026

Hyundai’s press conference will take place from 3:05 to 3:20 p.m. on October 12, 2026, at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition center. The model names, designs and initial key technical specifications are expected to be revealed there at the latest.

Key information needed for a purchase assessment is still missing. This includes prices for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, confirmed launch dates, WLTP ranges and charging times. Until Hyundai publishes these details, the announcement remains primarily a preview of a broader electric vehicle strategy.
